To integrate an international, intercultural and global dimension into the vision and delivery of education, outreach, consultancy and research, the University established the Internationalization and Convocation Unit (IC) under the Vice Chancellor’s office. It is about opening up to partnerships, collaborations and networking with national and international peers. The IC is responsible to oversee all matters of Internationalization of the Mbeya University of Science and Technology.

To achieve the University’s intention the Unit is mandated to perform the following functions;

• Promoting the University outreach activities through reliable and effective communication media to key stakeholders;
• Promoting mutual collaboration, partnership and networking with local and international stakeholders in outreach activities;
• Coordinating and administering all outreach services and marketing activities;
• Soliciting resources from external sources to support implementation of outreach activities;
• Coordinating and soliciting consultancies for the University;
• Conducting market intelligence for MUST;
• Ensuring all polices and guidelines for internationalization are adhered to;
• Marketing the University’s corporate image to both internal and external publics;
• Organizing and conducting conference services and symposia;
• Establishing exchange projects and programmes, joint ventures emanating from national and international linkages;
• Maintaining alumni database;
• Coordinating alumni events;
• Coordinating admission of International Students;
• Maintaining database of students’ Industrial Practical Training;
• Handling all matters related to fieldwork and students research programmes; and
• Co-ordinating conduct of Industrial Linkages for students.
