MCB Company Ltd was established in March 2017 under the name MIST Engineering Contractors Ltd (MISTECO) before it was re-named to MCB Company Limited in June 2020.  It also accommodates the functions that are conducted by MUST Consultancy Bureau Limited. The Company is under Mbeya University of Science and Technology (MUST), and it aims at coordinating the use of the University expertise, resources and to contribute effectively to the socio-economic sustainability of Tanzania in particular, and the world at large.

On the other hand, MUST Consultancy Bureau Limited was established in November, 2007 under the name MIST Consultancy Bureau (MCB) as one of the Institution Directorate before it was registered to be a Company in May 2021.

The emphasis is placed on providing complete, comprehensive and integrated services in construction industry. Further, the Companies aim at promoting effective entrepreneurship and use of appropriate technology that meets national and international needs and standards through skills and practical oriented training and consultancy.
