Directorate of Postgraduate Studies, Research, and Publications (DPSRP) is one of the youngest Directorates in Mbeya University of Science and Technology (MUST). It was set up in order to enhance the University's image as a premier academic, research and publications institution of international rank.

Structure and Activities

The Directorate co-ordinates, monitors and organizes postgraduate programmes, research, and publications at the University. Its activities are tailored to feed into the University's programmes development and improvements. This enables the University to design and deliver up-to-date and relevant programmes that meet the needs of society and the world at large.

Units

The Directorate is divided into two Units with different coordinators (to be appointed) and activities:

• Research and Publications Unit
  

The Research and Publications Unit is responsible for the following activities:

1. It coordinates research activities undertaken by MUST members of staff, students, research fellows and associates under various collaborative arrangements. MUST priority research areas include those in science, technology, community development, business management, and entrepreneurship?
2. It oversees the quality of academic works produced by staff members of the University, students and other stakeholders.
3. It ensures proper documentation and dissemination of publications.
4. Currently, the Unit coordinates the publication of the MUST Newsletter, MUST working papers/books and teaching manuals written by MUST academic staff.

• Postgraduate Studies Unit
  

The Unit of Postgraduate Studies is responsible for the overall management and quality assurance/control of postgraduate training programmes at the University. The Programmes (in different fields) coordinated by the Unit of Postgraduate Studies are:

1. Postgraduate Diploma
2. Masters Degree
3. Doctor of Philosophy
