Students encouraged to innovate

The Vice Chancellor of Mbeya University of Science and Technology (MUST) Prof. Aloys Mvuma urged Students to be innovative as part of their University life apart from academic programmes that they are pursuing.

The Vice Chancellor has made this remark when he was officiating the introduction of the Center of Innovation and Technology Transfer (CITT) at Nyerere Hall on 2nd February 2021.

Prof. Mvuma encouraged Students to work hard in their studies, and spend their spare time to generate innovative ideas that will help to foster novel technologies and Business enterprises that will solve various problems in the society. Prof. Mvuma insisted: “You are still young; you have energy to innovate; you can do wonders in this world”.

On the other hand, the Ag. Director for MUST CITT Dr. Juma Mpangule said that the centre deals with innovation, incubation and entrepreneurship. He put it clear that, innovation has no boundaries; “it is not necessarily that you must be in your field of study so as you can become innovator no, but you can be innovators into another field of study”, he insisted.

The Center for Innovation and Technology Transfer at MUST operates through the Departments of Entrepreneurship and Business Management and The Department of Innovation and Incubation. The Center is determined to help innovators and entrepreneurs to fulfill their dreams.

In his closing remarks , the MUST Deputy Vice Chancellor (Academic Research and Consultancy) Prof. Godliving Mtui underscored the need for endurance quality control and intellectual property Right observance in pursuit of innovation excellence.
