Prime Minister Hon. Kassim Majaliwa launches apprenticeship programme phase three at MUST

The Prime Minister of Tanzania Hon. Kassim Majaliwa launches the apprenticeship programme at Mbeya University of Science and Technology and commended facilitators for their efforts to impart skills to Tanzanians.

Hon. Majaliwa made these remarks when he was launching the third phase of the apprenticeship programme earlier this week at Mbeya University of Science and Technology where he witnessed various skills showcased by the apprentices. Hon. Majaliwa thanked all institutions that hosted the programme including MUST for their readiness to serve the Country and congratulated the apprentices for their request for knowledge as evidenced by a big number of students who applied for the programme. Hon. Majaliwa added that the training provided an opportunity for youths to fulfill their dreams and acquire the skills they needed in life. The training is tailored for candidates of all levels of education from those who completed standard seven to University graduates. Also, the training is offered free of charge and provides equal opportunities to all applicants regardless of gender and disability. On the other hand, the Minister of Education, Science and Technology Prof. Joyce Ndalichako said that the apprenticeship training builds youth skills that will help them for their entire life while ensuring that the Government is working on the plan to build Vocational Colleges in every District Countrywide. The Vice Chancellor of Mbeya University of Science and Technology Prof. Aloys Mvuma said that the University has experience in providing vocational training in the fields of Engineering and allied technologies, and called upon the Government to sustain this programme for many years to come. The apprenticeship programme third phase will run for six months from June 2021 and is expected to end in December 2021.
