Academicians Urged To Help MUST Graduates To Become Entrepreneurs

The Deputy Vice Chancellor responsible for Academic, Research and Consultation Prof. Godliving Mtui urged Mbeya University of Science and Technology Staff to impart Entrepreneurial skills Students

He made this Statement on Tuesday 1st March 2022 when officiating the Orange Knowledge Programme (OKP) Entrepreneurship Training in Renewable Energy at Modern Highland Hotel in Mbeya City.

Prof. Mtui called on the Academicians to be Entrepreneurs in Teaching by applying Methodologies that will help their students to employ themselves.

He further observed that, they should utilize this opportunity by fully participating in the Training to help them acquire entrepreneurial skills.

 On the need for staff to write Project Proposals,  Prof. Mtui emphasized that “Everyone has to make efforts to write project Proposals that will enable the University to secure projects that will facilitate Pre- incubation programmes, geared at influencing creative and innovative ideas among MUST Students”.

Prof. Mtui thanked the Facilitator, Mrs. Trinke Drjfhout for her good presentations and the participatory strategies that she employed in training that enabled Participants to be active during training.

The training in Renewable Energy is among the components of the projects executed by Hanze University and surppoted by NUFFIC and beneficiaries are MUST and Arusha Technical College (ATC), AS as per the existing memorandum of understanding signed in 2019, to collaborate in areas of renewable energy curriculum development, training of staff, gender awareness to renewable energy, and awareness programme on renewable energy to youths in primary schools and secondary schools.
