Department of Financial Accounting

Department of Financial Accounting is one among of the two departments within the Directorate of Finance. This department essentially deals with the University’s financial operations in regard of collections and disbursements. The department is headed by the Head of Department who is directly reporting to the Director of Finance.

 

STAFFING

Currently, the Department has eleven (11) staff members including the Head of Department.

 

KEY FUNCTION

The key function of the Department is to take care of financial accounting operations within the University.

 

CORE ACTIVITIES

Some of the core activities of the Departments are: -

  1. Maintaining of debtors and creditors records;
  2. Management of imprest;
  • Making follow up outstanding balances;
  1. Developing and reviewing of Accounting manuals, Policies, and Financial regulations;
  2. Adhering to internal controls in place for safeguarding University resources etc
