Possession of Certificate of Secondary Education Examination (CSEE) with a pass in at least four (4) non-Religious subjects,   three   of which   must be Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry

OR

Possession  of  Certificate  of  Secondary  Education  Examination  (CSEE)  from  Technical Secondary  Schools with a pass in at least four (4) non-Religious subjects, three of which must be Mathematics, Engineering Science, Chemistry and any one of the following subjects: Architectural Drafting/Building Construction, Electrical  Engineering Science/Electrical Drafting, Workshop Technology/Mechanical Drafting.

OR

Possession of a certificate of secondary Education with a minimum of “D” Grade in Mathematics, Physics/Engineering Science, English, and Chemistry or a Certificate of Secondary Education and National Vocational Award (NVA) Level 3.

This program has been designed to ensure that graduates have ability to;

• Carry out design excavations for both surface and underground mining and civil works
• Execute plans and designs of both surface and underground mine and civil excavations
• Carry out management of routine maintenance of equipment and installations
• Supervise safety equipment and workings in surface and underground works.
• Carry out administration of a surface mine and civil works
• Carry out management of mine and civil excavations data
• Use entrepreneurial skills in the mining related disciplines.
• Work within a multidisciplinary team.
• Communicate with members of an organisation at the same, higher and lower levels of expertise or responsibility.

The program will be assessed based on Assignments, Laboratory work, Classroom tests, End of module examination, and Project work. The mode of assessment will be made up of 40% continuous assessment and 60% end of semester examination.
