Program overview

The Philosophy behind the development of this programme is geared towards producing innovative, creative and flexible laboratory technicians. The philosophy of the programme is based on the following principles and assumptions:

  • To provide foundations of basic principles, competencies and expertise that will give opportunity for graduate career development.
  • To provide understanding of laboratory technological applications.
  • To stimulate students’ interest in designs related to laboratory sciences applications and motivation in pursuance of further knowledge, research and imaginative thinking.
  • To produce technicians who are ready to enter the Laboratory Science and Technology labour market and flexibly satisfy the needs of industry

Therefore, it is expected that the graduates from this programme will have aspirations to become professionals. The programme also contains coherent core of Mathematics, computer science and Communication Skills which provide a viable foundation for further studies and lifelong learning.

The programme is a course system and will operate under semester structure.
