The Diploma in Agribusiness (Three Years) at Mbeya University of Science and Technology (MUST) is designed for candidates passionate about agriculture, agribusiness, and technology, with the aim of developing professional skills for careers across the agricultural value chain. Admission to the programme is open to applicants who meet any of the following requirements: 

Holders of a UQF Level 6 Certificate in Agribusiness, Agriculture, or a Professional Technician Level II Certificate in a related field from a recognized institution; 

                                                                              OR

Holders of an Advanced Certificate of Secondary Education Examination (ACSEE) with at least two principal passes in relevant subjects such as Science, Economics, or Geography; 

                                                                              OR

Graduates of foundation programmes from the Open University of Tanzania (OUT) in streams such as Agriculture, Science, Economics, or related areas. The programme strongly promotes inclusivity, and applications are highly encouraged from all qualified candidates, both male and female. 

Graduates of the programme are expected to demonstrate the ability to apply business and management principles in the agricultural sector, particularly in areas such as financial management, marketing, and enterprise development. The programme also equips students with competencies in agricultural policy analysis and formulation, enabling them to contribute effectively to both national and international development agendas. In addition, graduates are prepared to offer consultancy, advisory, and extension services to farmers, agribusinesses, and related organizations. Furthermore, the programme nurtures strong problem-solving, leadership, and communication skills, positioning graduates for diverse career opportunities in agribusiness management, agricultural finance, project coordination, and development work. 

To achieve the intended learning outcomes of this programme, students are provided with an assessment plan and a copy of the assessment regulations at the beginning of their studies. The assessment framework is designed to ensure continuous learning and fair evaluation. Continuous assessment, which accounts for 50% of the total marks, includes at least two tests and practical assignments. The remaining 50% is derived from the end-of-semester examinations, thereby balancing ongoing performance with final evaluation.
