The entry requirements for the candidates applying for Bachelor of Technical education in Civil Engineering, should possess the Advanced Certificate of Secondary Education Examination (ACSEE) with at least two (2) principal passes (D and above) of a minimum of 4.0 points in Physics and Mathematics or chemistry or geography.

OR

  Holders of Ordinary Diploma (NTA level 6) in Civil Engineering or Full Technician         Certificate (FTC) in Civil Engineering with an average of B or GPA not less than 3.0.

Graduate of Bachelor Degree will have: 

• broad and comparative knowledge of the general scope of the civil engineering subjects, its different areas and applications, and its interactions with other related engineering fields;
• Understanding on theories, principles and concepts of design of civil engineering facilities and supervision of the construction and maintenance processes.
• Broad knowledge on the general scope of the technical education subjects including curriculum development, psychology of learning, methods of teaching and learning, sociology of education, instructional media, and others
• Apply knowledge, skills and understanding in a wide and unpredictable variety of context with substantial personal responsibility, responsibility for the work of others and responsibility for the allocation of resources, policy, planning, execution and evaluation.
• Communicate the results of their studies and other work accurately and reliably in a range of different contexts using educational concepts as well as civil engineering concepts, constructs and techniques.
• Identify and address their own learning needs including being able to draw on a range of current research, development and professional materials.
• Demonstrate skills of evidence-based reasoning to solve industrial, commercial and domestic electrical, electronics and telecommunication engineering problems as well as Technical educational problems.
• Demonstrate of leadership, management and entrepreneurship principles.

Students shall be given at the beginning of their programme of study, a copy of the following assessment regulations, in the assessment plan:

• Test and end of semester examinations: The number, composition, nature, date and time of these shall be specified.
• Programme Assignments: The specification and date of submission shall be stated.
• Laboratory and workshop practical(s): The number, composition, nature, date and time of these shall be specified
